Vision the Future
The first stage in implementing 21st century learning will involve building a shared understanding of where the school is now and what is possible in the future.
The rationale for this future 21st century vision needs to be clearly understood and shared. The school community needs to believe that doing new things in new ways is not only possible and achievable but desirable. It is critical that the focus is on how this change will build 21st century learning.
During this stage it is natural that challenges and fears will surface. By dealing with all these issues and conflict in a positive way we can build trust and commitment within a strengthened team. This takes time but it is an essential step if the future vision is to become a shared reality.
