Moving Forward...
Now that you have implemented the learning innovation and the initial professional learning you are ready to reflect on what this means for you and your school.
In this next stage you will:
- deepen your learning about leadership
- assess progress and reflect on what has been achieved
- focus on the next phase of the innovation so that you can continue to improve student learning
As you prepare to make this transition it is important to keep student learning and teacher collaboration at the core of every conversation!
To support reflection
- How will you support the team in the process of identifying successes, small and large?
- What opportunities are there for student collaboration? and teacher collaboration?
- As leader have you embedded processes for review of the learning achievements and have you created opportunities for redirection of focus if needed?
- What processes are in place so teachers can share new thinking, creativity and innovations with emerging technologies?
- What processes have you put into place to ensure that innovation is sustained?
What our colleagues say
- Ensure that the transformation occurs in the classroom or the learning spaces.
- Leaders must be the leading learner. This means that the best leaders will find ways of being in the classroom, or at least find ways of being as close to the classroom as possible. You must be an active participant, not an observer.
How does this align with your thinking?
